In order to maintain a high quality of life for its residents and stay economically competitive the Nashville region must establish a diverse, comprehensive multi-modal transportation system that is sustainable and equitable to all users. CRT plays an important role in this effort by continuing to be a recognized source of factual information regarding the impacts of growth and the benefits of a robust, comprehensive, and equitable transportation system.

Bob Murphy is Vice President and Regional Practice Leader for KCI Technologies in Nashville, Tennessee. He has a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee, is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states and certified as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer. Previously, Bob was President and founder of RPM Transportation Consultants and has more than 40 years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning. Bob specializes in multi-modal planning and design, is a recognized expert in transportation safety, and is noted for his commitment to sustainable design practices.
Bob is involved with and serves on the board of several organizations, including the International Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), Southern District ITE, The Transportation Management Association, Walk/Bike Nashville, University of TN Alumni Board, and the American Consulting Engineers Council (Nashville Chapter).
In his spare time, Bob enjoys running, cycling, swimming, and other outdoor activities, as well as attending sporting and music events. Bob and his wife Kelly have two sons
