Rezoning Proposals Considered in Nolensville

NOLENSVILLE — Even though a proposal to rezone a flood plain to allow for commercial buildings died last month, memories of the failed project have begun to haunt another Nolensville rezoning request.

Developers are seeking a “village” designation for a piece of land in Nolensville. This designation would allow mixed-use residential and commercial uses on parts of Nolensville Road. There is also consideration for higher density residential towards the back of the property which abuts current residential neighborhoods. While the land in question does have a flood plain, developers would plan to either not develop or simply incorporate a sewer line or walking trail.

A similar rezoning request was initially denied in 2011 due to concerns over flood plain development. However, public opinion has uncovered a desire for more commercial and residential options in Nolensville.
