Located directly north of Nashville, Robertson County is home to the incorporated cities
of Adams, Cedar Hill, Coopertown, Cross Plains, Greenbrier, Orlinda, Ridgetop, the county seat of Springfield, and White House. Robertson County (population 60,379) has been acknowledged as the dark-fired tobacco capital of the world.
The county was named in honor of General James Robertson, the founder of the Watauga and Cumberland settlements. In 1799, the first courthouse was built of hand-hewn logs, the second built of brick in 1819, and the third and present courthouse was completed in 1879. Robertson Countians take great pride in their land and heritage.
