Quality Growth Toolbox Training Kicks Off Maury

Columbia, TN - May 29, 2008 - CRT and the Maury County Comprehensive Planning Steering Committee co-hosted a four-hour
Toolbox Training Session for 120
government and business leaders this week in Columbia.
Attendees were
welcomed by Committee Chairman Dr. Eslick Daniel and briefed by Dennis
Cook of
MACTEC on the Scope of Work and Schedule for the twelve month Maury
County project which began in May 2008. Toolbox Trainers Bridget
Jones,
Kevin Tilbury, Richard Quin and Dennis Cook then presented the Toolbox
material to the impressive group of attendees including County
Commissioners,
City Council members, Planning Commissioners and staff from Maury
County, Columbia, Spring Hill and Mt. Pleasant. Many business and
community
leaders also attended including representatives from the Maury
Alliance, Columbia Main Street, the Maury County Housing Authority, the
Nature
Conservancy Duck River Office, the Maury County Farm Bureau, State
Economic Development & Planning Officials and sponsoring banks
includingFirst
Farmers and Merchants, Community First Bank and Trust and Heritage Bank
and Trust. CEU's were earned for Planning Commissioners and government
officials for completion of the training.
