Northeast Mobility Study Community Workshops Coming Up In Next Two Weeks!

The Nashville Area MPO is completing work on the
Northeast Mobility Study and needs your input at upcoming Community Workshops to Discuss Mass Transit Options for this important regional corridor. If you have every had a desire to see bus rapid transit, light rail transit, or commuter rail service in this part of the region, or if you simply are just interested in helping this region develop a strategy to implement rapid mass transit, this is your opportunity to get involved.
This comprehensive planning effort in our region's Northeast Corridor will develop transportation investment strategies that support priorities of communities between downtown Nashville and Gallatin, Tennessee. The study is examining the economic growth potential of various land use and urban design scenarios for the fast growing corridor en route to evaluating potential transportation projects like passenger rail, bus rapid transit, roadway improvements, etc.
Please make plans to attend one of the following Community Workshops and share your ideas for how to shape the transportation/mass transit, land use, urban design and economic development plans for this corridor. At the sessions you also will hear from local and regional planners on which of these make the most sense for this area of our region.
You will also see a glimpse of the future of growth and development patterns and traffic congestion from Nashville to Gallatin and explore what other metropolitan areas are doing to improve mass transit choices that face growth and traffic issues.
